Ending survivor shaming, re-traumatization, and systemic betrayalÂ
When we listen, survivors heal. When we act, systems change. Let Us Heal is a survivor-led nonprofit working to end secondary victimization for survivors of domestic violence, sexual trauma, and coercive control. We equip communities, professionals, and institutions with trauma-informed education, survivor-centered advocacy, and systems-change solutions so every survivor can heal in safety, dignity, and power. You are not alone.

Let Us Heal exists to end the harm survivors experience after the original trauma. Too often, survivors are re-traumatized by the very systems meant to protect them: healthcare, legal, law enforcement, education, workplaces, families, and communities. We are changing that. Through trauma-informed education, institutional reform, public awareness, and survivor-led advocacy, Let Us Heal helps professionals, policymakers, and communities recognize harm, prevent re-traumatization, and repair the systems that allow it to continue.
Every survivor deserves to be believed, protected, and supported. Every survivor has the right to heal.
Founded by Dr. Christy Wise
Dr. Christy Wise is a global mental health expert, survivor advocate, and founder of Let Us Heal.
“I am a survivor who was shattered by the systems meant to protect me. Let Us Heal is my fight to end the punishment of survivors for surviving.”
Through her own healing, Dr. Wise uncovered a truth too many women know: the trauma does not always end with the abuser. It can continue through silence, shame, disbelief, and systemic betrayal. Let Us Heal is her response, her life’s work, and a call to build something better.
Who we are
Let Us Heal is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending secondary victimization for survivors of domestic violence, sexual trauma, and coercive control. We serve survivors, advocates, institutions, and communities through:
- Trauma-informed survivor education
- Professional training for front line systems
- Public awareness campaigns
- Survivor-centered advocacy
- Policy and institutional reform
Our work helps systems move from harm to healing.
Our core values
Survivor leadership
Survivors are not just people we serve. They are leaders, decision-makers, educators, and architects of change.
Trauma-informed practice
Healing requires safety, trust, choice, dignity, and empowerment at every level.
Intersectionality
Every survivor’s experience is shaped by race, gender, disability, identity, culture, immigration status, and access to power. Our work honors that complexity.
Justice through systems change
We do not only respond to trauma. We work to change the conditions that create and repeat it.

From local roots to global reach
Healing is personal, but it is also systemic. At Let Us Heal, our commitment to survivor healing is not confined by borders. We work across local, state, national, and global levels to create lasting change. Systemic transformation begins with community voices. It grows through collective action. From influencing local policies to shaping national conversations and advocating on the world stage, Let Us Heal exists to co-create solutions that protect, uplift, and empower survivors. Together, we can transform not only individual lives, but the systems that shape them.
If you are a survivor, you are not alone. If you are an ally, your voice matters. If you are a professional, your response can help someone heal. If you are an institution, your systems can change. Let Us Heal is more than an organization. It is a movement to end survivor shaming, stop re-traumatization, and build a world where healing is protected.
When we listen, survivors heal. When we act, we change everything.
